8 month contract

General Information
Junior Engineer: Contract 8-month term, starting August 1 2019, ending April 1 2020
US Technical Services manages the integrity of the pipe by developing, implementing and continually improving programs and risk-based solutions while concurrently meeting regulatory requirements to maintain safe and reliable pipe systems. Client's US Technical Services Department is seeking contract Junior Engineer to work in the Calgary Head Office. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has excellent organization, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, exercises good judgment, and has excellent writing and interpersonal skills. This position is part of a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with professionals in Pipeline Integrity and the US Gas Business Unit and aid in the management of Pipeline Integrity programs with a focus on Class Location, High Consequence Area and MAOP Data Management for US natural gas pipelines.

Responsibilities
* Risk and Data Integration: Continued development and implementation of the risk assessment tools and procedures we use to develop our annual maintenance programs to ensure continued safe and reliable operation of Client's US Gas pipeline network;
* Provide technical support to teams within Pipeline Integrity and throughout Client;
* Provide support in the development and implementation of programs and projects to manage the various pipeline threats;
* Manage pipeline integrity databases;
* Analyze data, summarize information, and create charts, graphs, reports and presentations;
* Other tasks as required.

Qualifications:
* Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment;
* Strong attention to detail and well-developed written and verbal skills;
* Ability to multitask effectively and good time management skills;
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
* Proficient in MS Office (Microsoft Access database skills would be an asset).

Education:
* Must be a, Technologist-in-Training (TT), CET (Certified Engineering Technologist), Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer;
* Experience Requirement: 0-5 years
* Preference will be given for specialty in mechanical, chemical, civil and materials engineering, and individuals with experience in pipeline engineering.

This position requires candidates to:
* Have legal authorization to work in the country in which the position is based with no restrictions. All positions require background screening. Some include criminal and/or credit checks to comply with applicable regulations and the Client's Contingent Workforce Contractor policies.
