The Role:
* Complete a variety of operations and maintenance activities at compressor, measurement and/or pipeline sites.
* Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TransCanada's health, safety, environment and risk standards.
* Perform monthly and annual preventive maintenance and inspections on site equipment and support housekeeping activities.
* Perform inspections related to valve servicing, troubleshoot and repair; assist with all aspects of pipeline isolation and gas handling;
* support tasks associated with inline inspection; triage and respond to one call requests;
* locate the pipeline in accordance with TC operating procedures using industry standard locating equipment;
* assist with line crossings of TC assets; work to proactively identify encroachment areas of concern, work with contractors and other stakeholders to mitigate risk;
* Independently enter and locate data on computerized systems such as SAP, GeoFind, and Irthnet;
* Oversee project activities by providing active control duties related to external contractors;
* Perform advanced operating and maintenance duties at TransCanada's facilities;
* Required to be included in an on-call rotation;
* Respond to emergency situations; identify abnormal operations and escalate as necessary using TCs incident management and Emergency management procedures, work independently to isolate and depressurize pipeline sections or facilities;
* Working independently, utilize and maintain prints;
* Operate and maintain test equipment;
* Perform advanced or complex pipeline maintenance;
* Ensure work tasks and duties comply with HS&E policies, procedures and applicable legislation;
* Execute on emergency management (preparedness and response) procedures for work locations;
* Perform Other tasks, as required.
