Our client, a large midstream oil and gas company, is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer based in Calgary, AB.

Core Responsibilities:
* Planning, executing, and developing the US West WOF Threat Management Program to manage geotechnical and hydrotechnical pipeline threats;
* Performing field work in various areas of the United States to evaluate and document geotechnical and hydrotechnical pipeline threats;
* Reporting, documenting, and demonstrating compliance with internal WOF processes and ensuring regulatory requirements are achieved;
* Assisting with development of internal standards and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, standards and industry best practices;
* Representing the company's Pipeline Integrity group in technical discussions with internal/external stakeholders;
* Working with project managers and operations personnel to ensure successful implementation of remediation and survey programs;
* Assisting in other engineering assessments, feasibility and risk studies using practical experience and engineering principles;
* Applying basic economic analysis and project management methods such as justifications, cost estimates, schedules, budget control, scope management, and resource planning;
* Reviewing and analyzing results from third party vendors to ensure the desired benefits are achieved;
* Providing timely technical support to various teams (regulatory groups, urban development, field assessment issues, etc.);
* Coordinating or directing the work of external consultants and contractors;
* Making independent decisions and communicating recommendations to management and other affected parties in a way that fosters consensus and facilitates efficient outcomes;
