The Role:
Location:
This is a field based role. This role is part of the Engineering team. The selected candidate would work on a 3 weeks on/1 week off schedule with the ability to come back to Calgary during the week off. Field locations could be Chetwynd, Prince George, Houston or Kitimat, all in the province of BC.

Core Responsibilities:
- Design materials, structures, and systems while considering the limitations imposed by practicality, regulation, safety, and cost.
- Represent Owner on-site with the pipeline construction contractor.
- Interface with the Pipeline Construction Contractor's geotechnical engineer.
- Identify geotechnical hazard/instability, select mitigations, and develop site specific installation designs in collaboration with the Company Geotechnical Engineering Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) for hazards impacting the pipeline and/or long-term stability of the Right-of-Way (ROW).
- Produces engineering solutions that lead to effective monitoring, assessing and management of geotechnical hazards on pipeline assets, aiming for the lowest life-cycle costs for the program.

Decision Making:
- Makes decision and recommendation on very high level projects or problems.
- Uses their judgment to interpret policy and draws upon past practice, industry knowledge and ingenuity to come up with a solution where there is more than one approach available.
- Seen as the expert with high technical knowledge and experience.

Selected candidate must have their P.Eng. designation and be eligible for registration with EGBC.
