The Role:
This contract position is based in Calgary in the Land Project Services group within the Environment, Land & Indigenous Relations department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for various land administration duties on Crown and freehold land for pipeline and facility projects.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Land Projects Administration, and will ensure that documentation is produced accurately and in a timely manner according to project schedules, applicable corporate policies, and legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
* Reviewing and auditing land acquisition packages received from land service providers
* Reviewing third-party agreements
* Requesting and ensuring all landowner payments are received in a timely manner
* Ensuring all land obligations and commitments are tracked appropriately
* Registration and discharge of instruments and encumbrances on title
* Inputting land right agreements into the land system
* Supporting the project's Land Representative as required
* Perform tasks with limited oversight and resolve issues using established guidelines, procedures and policies, within level of accountability
* Provide guidance and oversight to the land service provider's Land Administration team
* Other tasks as required

Qualifications:
* Knowledge of surface land acquisition (Crown and freehold) and land registry practices in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec
* Understanding of industry construction & operations practices
* Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements as they relate to the administration of surface land rights
* Excellent analytical and interpretive skills
* Demonstrated problem solving skills using sound judgment and an aptitude for research
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in a dynamic team environment
* Pleasant and professional manner with a strong customer service focus
* Keen interest in delivering results in a timely and efficient manner
* Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Education/Experience:
* Minimum 7 years of experience in Surface Land, particularly on capital pipeline and facility projects
* Land Administration qualification, such as the Petroleum Land Administration Certificate
* Post-secondary university education considered an asset
* Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Familiarity with land systems
