The Role:
Description:

Facilities Field Engineer Role
Overall Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
* Field designee for the Project Engineering team in providing engineering governance and technical oversight
* Provide specification interpretation, technical guidance and engineering support at the Site Level to construction management, inspection and contractor staff
* Conduct engineering evaluation on an as needed basis as directed by the Project's Lead Engineer, Construction Manager or Area Manager
* Interface with facilities construction field implementation group
* Monitor project design implementation, provide technical input and guidance for field design changes as directed by Project Engineering
* Monitor and guide receipt and inspection of incoming and installed materials in conjunction with Material Coordinator
* Ensure that facilities are constructed in compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements
* Monitor project construction progression for Project Management team
* Report generation for Project Engineering (statistics, progress, pictures, information for future lessons learned)
* Assist in obtaining design variance/waivers and creation of management of change (MOC) documentation
* Coordinate As-Built validation/quality review with construction team and project engineering
* Assist with documentation storage, file transfer and management

Specific Construction Task Orientated Responsibilities:
Material Management
* Track and forecast total site material requirements
* Coordinate movement of material with Material Coordinator
* Emergency Material Ordering (Advise Project Engineering when material found to not be ordered)

Valve Assemblies, Engineered Equipment and Electrical and Instrumentation Installation
* Support verification of traceability labels, serial numbers etc.
* Verify material has arrived as per IFC drawing
* Verify correct installation elevation, extensions for valves, depth of cover etc.
* Verify correct valve or engineered item is installed at designated location
* Verify concrete workmanship
* Advise on reorder of damaged material
* Support and coordination of E&I installation
* Engineering Verification of Valve Sign off and E&I Installation check list prior to backfill and commissioning hand over
* Walk down site with commissioning lead to create punch list
* Coordinate all information with the designated Commissioning Coordinator

Hydrostatic Testing
* Verify Profile and Calculations
* Provide testing supervision and Acceptance
* Verify and approve testing documentation
* Verify emergency stock pipe quantities and W.T.
* Qualify test heads and secondary tests
* Participate in failure identification and remedial action plans

Pipeline Coordination
* Coordinate with Pipeline Field Engineer, pipeline Chief Inspectors and pipeline Construction Manager for all pipeline activities around station
* Ensure pipe breaks are established
* Coordination of field meetings for pipeline/facility interface

Lab and On Site Testing
* Coordinate soils, concrete, or any other type of company required testing

Administrative
* Review, respond and track contract Request for Information
* Support Project Controller as needed for cost, schedule and quantity verification
* Participate in daily contractor coordination meeting

Reporting
* Reports to the primarily to the Site Construction Manager, Site Project Manager but also takes direction from the Project Engineer and assigned Chief Inspector. This is a field position working for 10 hours/day with 6 days/week.
