The Role:
Core Responsibilities:
Provides support for network services, including diagnosis, repair, upgrade, installation, testing and documentation of network systems. Decision Making: Operates more independently, decisions range from those governed by general policy to those on technical or complex issues within authorized limits. Duties: Considered a fully functional network administrator; Second point of escalation for issues that cannot be resolved by junior network administrators; Helps support junior network administrative staff in managing challenging stakeholder relationships and as an end to end understand of the clients business needs and processes. Ensure that the junior network team is resolving network related escalated incidents in a timely and efficient manner.

Specific to this position:

Field Network Support Analyst

The Field Network Support Analyst position main duties are to stage and test WAN/LAN equipment to be installed at field meter station and compressor field sites as well as providing technical support to field installers to ensure timely and accurate field installations. Some field work may be required (20%) but this position will primarily work at the TransCanada Charleston office located at the 1700 Maccorkle Avenue SE, Charleston, West Virginia, which houses our inventory, staging and testing facility for the network lifecycle projects. This is anticipated to be a full-time position with approximately 40 hours per week.

General Duties:
* Assembly, configuration, staging and testing of networking/telecom equipment to be installed at TransCanada's field sites
* Working with TransCanada's drawings to aid in the assembly, staging, testing and deployment of network/telecom equipment
* Responsible for TransCanada's lifecycle lab and staging area
* Technical support for lifecycle project field trials
* Technical support for completion of field installations and troubleshooting
* Documentation of installed devices and completion of required project/operations documentation
* Documentation of processes and procedures as they apply to this job function
* Some field work for installation of equipment, field testing and field trial implementation
* Material Receiving
* Inventory Control & management
* Shipping & Handling and Tracking
* Packing slips, Item Receipt in SAP & Remedy
* Other duties as required

Skills required:
* Knowledge of IP networking
* Knowledge of wireless technologies
* Cisco device configuration, testing and troubleshooting
* Configuration of data networking equipment in general
* MS Office - Word, Excel, Access, Visio
* Ideal candidate will have a CCNA and/or a technical diploma from a technical college in networking, electronic or instrumentation
* Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. 10 to 15 times per day

* University Degree in relevant discipline
* 5-10 years experience
