The Role:

Our client is seeking an Electrical or Mechanical EIT/Engineer within the Energy Development Projects group. The primary purpose of the group is to develop performance, cost, and schedule estimates for greenfield and/or brownfield thermal and renewable power generation projects. Development projects may include wind, solar, gas combined-cycle, cogeneration, simple-cycle, waste heat recovery, transmission and energy storage (i.e. battery, pumped hydro, CAES).
These deliverables can be broken down further as follows:

Performance: The team will analyse the commercial and regulatory project requirements to select the most optimum project configuration and equipment selection based on cost and performance trade-offs.

Capital Costs: The team will develop an EPC contracting strategy based on project bid requirements and competitiveness and work with EPC contractors to define the project scope and technical requirements.

Operational Costs: The team will develop an overall operational model, looking at staffing requirements, major maintenance intervals, overhead costs, etc.

Schedule: The team will develop an overall Project schedule based on contractual requirements, EPC construction schedule, equipment delivery, permitting requirements (including potential delays), commissioning/turnover methodology and in-service requirements.

The analysis performed by the Energy Development Projects group provides a wholistic view of project performance trade-offs, capital costs, operational costs and risks to optimize the overall project design (and economic metrics) necessary to meet the requirements of the specific commercial opportunity.

* Support and help manage development budgets, approvals, schedules, and deliverables;
* Document and communicate project development or implementation information to team members and stakeholders;
* Provide project support to multiple development or implementation projects in accordance with the company's Project Delivery Standard (PDS) guidelines;
