Our client is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner based in Calgary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Provide technical environmental oversight on pipeline development projects with responsibility for; environmental design, environmental assessment, federal, provincial or local permit acquisition and support to environmental construction compliance.
* provide technical environmental advice to shape strategic direction for environmental design, permitting activities and developing mitigation and contingency planning for pipeline projects
* Provide guidance to project teams regarding project environmental portfolio responsible for; project execution plans, cost estimates, budgets and schedules, cost management and risk mitigation and ensure the integration of environmental protection appropriately
* Develop strategies for obtaining environmental regulatory authorizations and for responding to public, regulatory and legislative inquiries related to projects environmental issues.

Qualifications:
* Minimum 5-8 years of experience with direct experience in environmental planning and permitting for pipelines, including routing and siting, environmental planning, environmental assessment, project management, permitting and environmental compliance.
* Bachelor's Degree, in environmental sciences, geography, or related educational fields.
* Comprehensive knowledge of federal, provincial and local environmental laws and regulations and practices pertaining to pipeline construction projects
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience working with; Regulatory Agencies, Indigenous groups, non-governmental organizations, landowners and the public;
* Demonstrated ability to analyze scenarios, develop and implement strategies in regulatory affairs, stakeholder engagement and public acceptance
* Previous experience solving complex and unique regulatory, permitting and compliance issues on major projects.
