The Role:
Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical & Civil Engineering, the Senior Facilities Integrity Engineer will take accountability of the integrity and reliability of mechanical equipment used in our Oil Pipeline Facilities. This engineer will provide technical support to Field Operations through the Issue Management process by troubleshooting equipment issues and performing root cause analysis on equipment.

The engineer will be responsible for performing mechanical engineering design updates and changes for oil facilities that can be implemented through general maintenance capital projects or by field operations and perform the dual role of Project Engineer during its execution. The role may also include providing oversight to Business Development through creation or updates of Engineering standards and participation in engineering reviews taking into consideration Operations Engineering experience.

He/she shall be responsible for the integrity of mechanical equipment through the creation of Integrity Plans and Client Operating Procedures including maintenance functions to maximize reliability, efficiency and safety. In addition, this role accepts professional responsibility and liability for work done. In the context of this role, Mechanical equipment refers to: facility piping, pressure vessels, relief systems, tanks, valves, HVAC systems, fire suppression equipment, etc.

*We anticipate filling this position locally and therefore this position is not eligible for domestic or cross-border relocation assistance.

Responsibilities include:
* Support to Field Operations through the Issue management
o Assessing issues identified through the Issue Management process in conjunction with Field Operations, by identifying and implementing solutions.
o Performing root cause analysis on equipment failures and updating maintenance and integrity plans to mitigate and document concerns.
o Engaging Field Operations in a collaborative way to understand issues and work on solutions.
o Creating Management of Change documents and obtaining approvals.
* Mechanical Design Engineering
o Designing and/or selecting Mechanical equipment for liquid pipeline facilities to address business needs.
o Preparing calculations and reports and analyzing data to make recommendations for improving facility operations.
o Ensuring work is undertaken with due diligence and in accordance with the NEB, PHMSA, and industry codes.
o Creating, updating and authenticating engineering documents; including designs and drawings.
o Participating in Engineering design reviews and HAZOPs, to provide Business Development Projects recommendations from lessons learned in operations.
* Integrity Engineering
o Creating and maintaining Integrity Plans and Client Operating Procedures based on completed failure analysis and identified mitigation plans10
o Performing, facilitating and being involved in data gathering and analysis on equipment performance to improve life cycle efficiency of assets.
* Supporting General Plant Maintenance Capital projects through project scoping, cost estimates, field work coordination, material specifications, etc.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Must be highly analytical, self-motivating, detail oriented, and have strong problem solving skills
* Proven ability to establish positive and strong relationships with Field Operations;
* Ability to recognize and adapt to changing business priorities;
* Self-motivated and results driven;
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years of Oil & Gas pipeline facilities work experience;
* Experience in design and integrity management of mechanical equipment in oil pipelines will be a strong asset;
* Working knowledge of North American regulations, industry standards and best practices related to Oil Pipeline Facilities (CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4);
* Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
