The Role:
What you'll do
* Review and assess proposed site development applications to identify and resolve potential operational, safety or compliance issues that may result in design changes or pipeline protective work
* Collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders to reach integrated and optimized solutions, including government and development groups
* Analyze information in support of assessing and managing potential pipeline integrity threats and damage prevention issues
* Confirm and communicate pipeline design and operational technical requirements to internal and external stakeholders
* Manage and guide activities of consultants who represent TC Energy's interests at the regional level
* Define high-level work scope for potential mitigation projects, including delivery of work packages to the project management group for implementation
* Negotiate multiple types of agreements with third parties
* Provide technical support to pipeline integrity stakeholders and regional representatives as required

Minimum Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
* Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation from APEGA or equivalent provincial regulator
* A minimum of ten (10) years of engineering or equivalent experience
* Other combination of education and work experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications
* Significant professional experience in pipeline integrity and/or civil engineering for land development projects
* Self-motivated individual with excellent work ethic, attention to detail, track record of driving tasks to completion and adept at leading change
* Effective communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
* Demonstrated decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment
* Established ability to problem solve by applying engineering principles and developing effective solutions
* Proven negotiation experience tied to successful outcomes
* Highly capable time management, prioritization and organizational skills
* Thorough understanding of Canadian regulations and standards related to pipeline integrity and damage prevention
* Fluency in written and spoken French would be an asset
