The Role:
This position is based in the Calgary office with periodic trips to site as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Responsible for alignment of project reporting between the Project Controls functional groups of Scheduling, Cost Control, Earned Value and Change Management
- Ensure reporting is consistent with Project Management and Supply Chain execution
- Take proactive actions to effectively communicate performance deviations and potential impacts
- Following the requirements set out by the project reporting calendar, assist the Earned Value Management (EVM) team in gathering and assembling progress information and ensuring EVM tracking tool accurately represents current progress, earned value, schedule, and forecast for engineering, procurement, construction execution activities:

o Update actual & forecast progress data from contractor reports and project schedule as required
o Update monthly actual vs planned variance explanations, risks/impacts and mitigation plans as required

o Update Earned Value (EV) Cost Performance Index (CPI) as required
 Update monthly planned values from Primavera P6 schedule and (SAP) cost/change management data
 Ensure forecasted progress and cost data aligns with schedule updates

o EV Analyses for total Project and individual WBS
 Analyze calculated earned value for project, check for reasonableness
 Assess validity of revised budget & planned value
 Assess validity of progress data inputs and outputs
 Provide CPI-based Estimate At Completion (EAC) analyses
 Communicate EV details with project/program managers, monthly
 Setup monthly meetings with cost team and project managers to review respective CPI values
 Validate incurred and earned value costs; identify variances and address as necessary
 Present EV details to executive leadership (directors & client) as required

o Check Schedule Performance Index (SPI) validity
 Analyze formula-calculated SPI, assess validity of SPI value for reasonableness
 Communicate SPI results with Schedulers and understand and/or resolve misalignments
 Communicate SPI details with project/program managers, monthly

Minimum qualifications

* Relevant post-secondary degree is required, Project Management degree is preferred;
* Eight (8) or more years of related experience is preferred;
* Alternate combination of experience and education may be considered;
* In-depth working knowledge of Project Control functions and processes including planning/scheduling, cost control, Progress measurement, Earned value management, change management, risk assessment,
* Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Power BI).
* Credentials from AACE or PMI is an asset.

* Strong interpersonal skills;
* Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision;
* Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills to assist in working in a fast paced and evolving work environment;
* Sound analytical and critical thinking skills;
* Strong communication skills, including ability to present information to a variety of audiences internally and externally;
* Proactive approach to continuous improvement initiatives;
* Strong interpersonal skills including, collaboration, conflict resolution and cross functional engagement;
* Power BI.
