The Role:
seeking a Pipeline technician to support area operations. This role will report to the Manager of the Cimarron area and be focused on completing preventative maintenance (PM), supporting pipeline improvement projects, troubleshooting of system issues both in an immediate response and/ or through long term correctives along with bringing forth and executing on opportunities drive incremental asset value, through the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the Keystone system (both the base Keystone and Gulf Coast pipeline and terminal facilities).

What you'll do

* Apply technical skills and aptitude to operate, repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform other planned maintenance and corrective tasks on pumps, valves, generators, motors, and other associated pipeline equipment in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
* Perform "One Call" line locates and associated as-built drawing updates
* Assist with all types of Line Crossings (foreign or seismic) of TC Pipe Assets
* Identify encroachment issues including those identified by aerial patrol
* Perform valve servicing / inspections, troubleshooting and repair (equipment such as actuators, valves, stem seals and other related components)
* Assist with notifications to Landowners and community engagement events
* Read and interpret alignment sheets
* Lead/manage the safe and efficient execution of excavation activities
* Assist with general pipeline Right of Way (ROW) maintenance activities (erosion or sink hole repairs, line patrol, install identification signs and posts)
* Provide multi-skilled maintenance support with other technicians in the completion of pipeline, mechanical and measurement activities
* Leverage an understanding of business drivers and targets to prioritize and execute on activities to best meet or exceed these targets
* Continue to strive for increased reliability through proactive means such as spare parts strategy review, continued technical development, and improvements to our PM program
* Promote and aid in the standardization of equipment, maintenance functions, and consistent application of procedures to enhance the safe execution of all work (SSI's)
* Utilize in depth knowledge of area operations to identify, quantify, raise awareness of and action mitigation (if necessary) for area specific pipeline risks, in alignment with the overall liquids risk register
* Troubleshoot equipment problems utilizing technical reference manuals and documents, field specialists, vendor and engineering support
* Provide coaching, mentoring and training to other area personnel
* Manage and co-ordinate usage of third-party contractors to execute projects related to break/fix and system improvement work at all area facilities
* Progress through TC Energy's Technical Roadmap training for Pipeline technicians developing a proficiency to safely and efficiently execute all required job tasks
* Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

* Alignment to and demonstration of TransCanada Corporate Values of Safety, Responsibility, Collaboration, and Integrity
* Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED
* Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills
* Highly motivated with interpersonal skills to effectively work in a collaborative team environment that includes shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, support team and company objectives, and a willingness to work in all areas required by the team
* Must have the ability to complete tasks and assignments in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, ensuring proper handling and disposition of hazardous waste
* Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering, and filing of various forms

Preferred Qualifications

* Technology Diploma, Associates Degree or Relevant Trade Certification
* Previous oil / liquid expertise and experience will be considered a strong asset
* Safety training and application of principles 24x7
* Experience in technical mentoring will be considered an asset
* Ability to make sound decisions based on cost/benefit assessment
* Excellent business, leadership, and problem-solving skills
* Strong investigative and data analysis ability
* Excellent computer and equipment application skills

*This position requires candidates to:

* Have and maintain a valid driver's license
* Provide a driver's abstract for review
* Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
* Successfully complete a security clearance/criminal record check
* Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
