Our client, a large midstream company, is seeking a Valve Integrity Engineer based in Calgary, AB.

General Information
As an Engineer or Technologist within the Mechanical Engineering Department under the Liquids Business Unit, you will provide support to Field Operations to ensure integrity and reliability of valves, valve operators and related piping and components. You will provide support on the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of valves, valve operators, and related facilities associated with the Liquids pipeline assets.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical solutions to operational issues related to valves, valve operators, and related piping and components;
- Conduct root cause failure analyses;
- Development and maintenance of preventive maintenance practices;
- Provide operational support to field personnel performing liquid pipeline isolations and subsequent return to service;
- Support the design of systems involving valves;
- Identifying and recommending maintenance projects that contribute to lower life-cycle costs, increased revenues, or improved safety;
- Document and track valve and valve operator issues and resolutions to identify systemic issues
- Evaluate different technologies on valves and valve operators for possible implementation
- Other tasks as required.

Qualifications and Education

Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of valve and valve operator maintenance and integrity practices;
- Knowledge of applicable North American recommended practices, codes, and government regulations related to pipelines;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Innovative, self-motivated, and able to contribute in a team environment;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Assets:
- Experience in valve, valve operator and related equipment maintenance and design within the context of a pipeline system;
- Basic knowledge of pipeline hydraulics;
- Experience in maintenance strategies and techniques;

Education:
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist with APEGA or be eligible;
- Have expertise in the Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent;
- Have a minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in the engineering field, preferably
related to design, construction, and operation of pipeline, power generation, or other energy
facilities;
- Have hands-on operational and/or fabrication experience (instrumentation and controls
experience would be an asset);

*This position will require travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this effect.
