Our client, a large midstream company, is seeking a Vibration Technician based in Calgary, AB.

General Information

Pipeline company is seeking a Vibration technician or engineer to support critical liquid pipelines infrastructure. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of the Mechanical and Civil Engineering team in the Liquids Business Unit. The main areas of responsibility include: coordinate all field activities and conduct field surveillance to supplement integrity engineering studies on piping vibration. The role will require the candidate to work within an engineering team to identify and recommend solutions.

Responsibilities
- Multidisciplinary coordination, scheduling and travel to all liquid assets.
- Develop and update annual maintenance strategies for vibration testing equipment.
- Develop proposal requests for field work and equipment installations.
- Perform visual surveys and general field inspections of piping systems.
- Prepare comprehensive reports of activities and data findings.
- Diagnose issues with vibration collection equipment (hardware and software).
- Collection of vibration data with handheld data collection equipment as well as multichannel acquisition systems.
- Set up and take down of continuous live time monitoring equipment.
- Support in developing visual surveillance and vibration test plans for field technician.
- Develop and own pipe integrity tracking sheets related to vibration for above ground liquid assets.
- Support in training of Field Operations/Engineers on vibration data collection.
- Support in developing an annual budgeting strategy for vibration equipment.

Qualifications and Education
- Fundamentals of piping vibration and stress based failure principals.
- Fundamental knowledge of data acquisition systems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills. Ability to work and interact positively with others.
- Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills.
- Motivated to coordinate and participate in the Vibration Program activities, such as field visits, test, equipment maintenance, working with third party contractors, etc.
- Approximately 30% travel required across North America.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technologist Diploma with preferred minimum of 8 years of Oil & Gas work experience.
- Proven experience with vibration collection techniques, monitoring and analysis will be considered a strong asset.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee with APEGA, or Mechanical technologist.
- Integrity based inspection experience considered an asset
- Project Management experience beneficial considered an asset

*This position requires candidates to:
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license;
- Provide a driver's abstract for review;
- Able to travel to the US.

*This position will require travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this affect
