The Role:
Residing within Subsurface Computing (SSC), IT, this role will provide Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications and workflow support for Exploration, Production and Midstream to assist them in meeting business critical objectives.

This role will include ensuring GIS software, extensions and plug-ins are up-to-date, correctly configured and available for use, regularly working with GIS users, specialists and vendors to promptly resolve workflow, analytical and mapping related problems.

Additionally, this resource will troubleshoot ArcGIS Desktop, Geodatabase, and ArcGIS Server/Enterprise related issues, working with IT GIS senior staff. The resource will also be required to document findings and implement solutions with a goal to optimize performance across all GIS systems. This resource will work closely with GIS team to help define future state plans for GIS and will work alongside GIS team to achieve end state objectives.

The successful candidate will report to the GIS Manager and will assume a key role in meeting business requirements, driving governance and sustainability in the space of GIS support.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for all aspects of GIS application and systems support including software installations, upgrades, maintenance and enforcement of policies and standards set by GIS, SSC and IT.
* Serve as contact for ArcGIS Desktop applications, workflow, integration and mapping related issues and promptly resolve problems to enable key projects and work to progress.
* Responsible for updating and maintaining scripts used to install and upgrade applications and to load, manipulate and manage spatial data.
* Work closely with technical user community to improve capabilities and increase utilization of GIS technologies and data by optimizing existing workflows and introducing innovative methodologies and techniques.
* Work closely with supervisor to deliver targeted training to new-hires and all ArcGIS technical users.
* Assist in integrating data from various internal and external data sources into the ArcGIS / SDE Geodatabase environment.
* Provide spatial data loading and management support for ArcGIS, ArcSDE and associated systems.
* Perform spatial data analysis and cartographic support for GIS users.
* Assume supporting role in evaluating and recommending new GIS utilities and software with a goal of optimizing processes, improving business workflows and reducing mapping and analysis cradle to grave life cycle times.
* Assume supporting role in planning and executing GIS data and application upgrades.
* Assist in testing and evaluating new software packages.
* Domestic travel may be required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science or other relevant discipline.
* ESRI Certifications are plus
* Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience, with knowledge, installing and supporting ESRI applications including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server (Enterprise) and Esri Mobile applications. Experience within the oil and gas industry, geoscience and midstream a plus.
* Experience supporting non-ESRI GIS mapping, visualization and coordinate transformation applications such as Google Earth, Geographic Calculator, Global Energy Mapper, PaleoGIS, Tellus, Player, New Century Software (PODS) and Quorum GIS will be highly regarded.
* Experience moving data between GIS and G&G Applications such as Petrel, Petra and Paradigm a plus.
* Excellent understanding and knowledge of Coordinate Reference Systems with ability to georeference data, transform coordinates and resolve cartographic discrepancies.
* Knowledge and experience performing queries and analysis on spatial data with
