The Role:
Our client is looking for an embedded engineer at JLR partner's site to lead, coordinate and project manage lubricant development activities. The position requires an experienced mechanical engineer who is technically strong, pro-active, hands-on individual to work alongside the JLR engineering team to support ongoing and future lubricants development.

40 hours per week, based at Whitley (Coventry) with flexibility to travel to other sites, mainly NAIC, Gaydon and EMC (Wolverhampton), and, once a fortnight at Pangbourne

Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role
* Project management and reporting: Planning, action tracking, and reporting project progress.
* Data management and analysis: Identifying suitable platform to store test data and responsible for updating test results on time. Analyse test data and provide summary reports.
* Represent our client at JLR: Develop and maintain strong collaborative internal and external working relationships. Participate in the inter-departmental meetings (and lead where relevant), facilitate information flow between the two organisations, provide lubricant related technical input and guidance.
* Implement and coordinate oil analysis: Create a framework to collect oils from engineering development activities, durability programmes and field samples (retail/dealer network) and store the analytical results in a database
* Strategic Input: As part of the long-term partnership, the role requires the person to engage with key stakeholders to identify lubricant/fluids development activities/opportunity aligned to the technical partnership's goal/vision

Key challenges faced on the role, the role requires the successful candidate to:
* be located remotely at JLR
* be sufficiently knowledgeable in lubricants to manage day-to-day tasks/engagement with JLR partner
* act as the bridge between our client and the JLR team
* have awareness of the propriety background IP of both parties

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering

Essential experience and job requirements
* Experience in the automotive industry is essential.
* Self-motivated and highly organised approach to structured work with attention to detail essential
* Ability to work independently
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* A proven track record of building relationships with global teams spread across multiple sites and time zones
* A strong team player
* Microsoft Office 365

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Experience as automotive lead engineer in engine lubrication systems
