The Role:
Fircroft are proudly working in partnership with specialist chemical business Lianhetech, Seal Sands to appoint a experienced Chemical Buyer to their team..

Recruitment is due to large scale site expansion. Do you have the required skills, knowledge & experience to support the business?

Job role:
A skilled Chemical Buyer who has experience in the purchasing of packaged and bulk chemicals.

Responsibilities
Meet regulatory and customer quality requirements relating to ISO9001, ISO14001 and cGMP as well as the requirements of cross contamination prevention.
To provide the sourcing activity for new raw materials, suppliers, toll/custom manufacturers and third party services.
To ensure raw materials, goods and services to the organisation are scheduled in a timely manner taking into account cash flow out of the business while minimising any potential risk that could lead to a stock out position.
Responsible for the procurement of chemical raw materials, packaging and manufacturing utilities (eg Electricity, Gas, Water etc.)
To source and manage a large portfolio of chemical raw materials and packaging
Sourcing new and alternative raw materials from new and existing suppliers
Ensure that stocks are kept to an appropriate level to prevent stock out positions while maintaining efficient cash flow
To lead and coordinate (with R&D and QA/QC) the evaluation and approval of newly sourced raw materials and packaging items via the Raw Material Evaluation Package as detailed in procedure QA/050.
Maintain the approved suppliers list in collaboration with QA and compliance
To manage raw material and packaging non-conformance reports by working with suppliers and to achieve a beneficial and satisfactory response.
To liaise with the relevant external regulatory organisations and appropriate internal personnel regarding HMRC, REACH, HSE and transport regulations etc.
To be involved in any relevant contracting regarding raw materials.
Monitor procurement and supplier performance through relevant KPIs.
To be involved in the annual raw material budgeting process.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in buying raw chemicals is essential.
Operating within a purchasing role for a minimum of 5 years
