The Role:

Enviromental Services Analyst

To maintain and operate analytical equipment and methods which characterise hazardous liquid waste . To carry out and report results of analyses to the wider FES team to allow assessment of risks to personnel, environment and plant assets to occur.

Key Accountabilities:
Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met including (but not limited to) workplace organisation, work instructions, risk assessments, and control, COSHH assessments, housekeeping standards in accordance with GLP and GMP.
Provide accurate and timely analytical support as required for internal and external customers as scheduled by the FES Technical and Compliance Manager.
Ensure all laboratory paperwork is completed on time and in full to the required standard.
Ensure all work complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
Basic maintenance of laboratory equipment including standard preparation and performing calibration duties as required
Monitor and maintain stock levels of reagents and consumables.
Generate, interpret and report on analytical data to support services and communicate this on time and in full.
Complete all analytical documentation in compliance with Company procedures
Carry out minor analytical method development to improve analysis, including XRF, GC, spectrophotometric techniques and titrations
Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, skill and experience required fall within a post holder's expected capability and commensurate with the post holder's position in the company.

Core Skills
Ability to remain focused in a largely lone-working environment.
Understanding of chemical analytical methods, specifications and related documents/publications.

Identify and use all available sources of chemical safety data to ensure safe laboratory working.

Analytical aptitude and confidence in working in a multi-disciplinary laboratory.

Data and computer literate, fluent user of typical office software application packages, especially Word and Excel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
GCSE Maths, A Level Chemistry, Experience in chemical process analytical laboratory environment, familiarity with LC, IC, GC and XRF

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A Level Maths, BSc or equivalent in Chemistry, experience using VBA in a technical business setting, 2 or more years' experience in an analytical laboratory within industry
