The Role:
Preparation and revision of the site's COMAH safety report and any modification reports
Ensure that engineering projects are designed to ensure safe and efficient running.
Generation of reports and action plans that strive for best practice and guarantee legal compliance
Provision of technical expertise regarding functional safety, risk quantification and hazardous area management.
Identify the process safety implications of any new business
Liaise with the process engineering team to ensure that all process changes are appropriately assessed prior to implementation including new business, routine process changes and process improvements
Investigate process safety incident using suitable investigation technique
Evaluation of new process operation and equipment requirements
Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, skill and experience required fall within a post holder's expected capability and commensurate with the post holder's position in the company.
Essential
* At least 2 years experience in industry, preferably in process engineering in the chemistry industry
* HAZOP's and Design Reviews
* Basis of safety assessments
* Proven problem solving with a safety focused perspective.
* Data and computer literate and conversant with typical office software.
* Good communication skills, written and oral.
* Minimal Supervision Required.
