The Role:
Provide specialist mechanical support to the Engineering function.
Work with the Engineering Manager to create, implement and monitor the strategy for ensuring the Site's mechanical assets are appropriately specified and managed.
Ensure that all Environment, Health & Safety requirements are met including (but not limited to) workplace organisation, work instructions, risk assessments, permit issuing and control, COSHH assessments, housekeeping standards, and operating within the environmental permit.
Work with the Engineering & Maintenance Manager to create and deploy the mechanical engineering operational strategy.
Manage and review the mechanical assets, ensuring they deliver on safety, quality and cost
Work with the Maintenance Manager to improve breakdown recovery times
Deliver the mechanical aspects of all capital projects ensuring good engineering practice is applied whilst also maintaining capital expenditure within budget limits.
Improve the production asset uptime through a reduction in outages associated with mechanical equipment, mainly relating to reactors, agitator systems, centrifuges, pumps etc.
Ensure legislative compliance within the mechanical function; plan, commission and record all statutory checks.
Assist in the maintenance of the Site's mechanical programme of continuous improvement of asset reliability
Work with the Engineering Manager and the wider Engineering and Operations team on systematic infrastructure improvement projects
Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, skill and experience required fall within a post holder's expected capability and commensurate with the post holder's position in the company.
