The Role:
Fircroft are proudly working in partnership with specialist chemical business Lianhetech, Seal Sands to appoint a experienced Process Optimisation Chemist to their team.

Recruitment is due to large scale site expansion. Do you have the required skills, knowledge & experience to support the business?

Job role:
To work within the process optimisation group, taking full ownership of the established processes running in production within a designated area.
This will include covering the technical start-up of existing processes providing supervision, guidance, issuing of instructions, monitoring performance, process training, and provide technical input and advice to the manufacturing plant.
The role will also involve working to deliver improvements to yield, quality and throughput of existing processes, using a range of skills and knowledge, from lab work to statistical analysis of plant data.

Responsibilities
Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are met including (but not limited to) workplace organisation, work instructions, risk assessments, and control, COSHH assessments,housekeeping standards.,
Ensure that the laboratory working area is maintained in a safe and tidy fashion, ensure audits are up to date and participate proactively in Department Safety Meetings as well as safety observation program
Provide chemistry support and supervision as well as complete / update the necessary documentation including but not limited to: process outlines, PDP, TF98's, MSDS, Operator Training, for the start-up and ongoing performance of the established processes, to ensure quality and minimise lost time in manufacture.
Provide support and training to the manufacturing operators of the established processes. This will include hazards, PPE, critical process parameters, sensitive process parameters, cycle times, hold points and trigger points for each process.
Provide direct technical guidance to ensure product quality and to avoid lost time in production Monitor, interpret and report data from the established processes in production within a
designated area. This will include the monitoring of critical process parameters, cycle times, OEE, yield and quality.
Demonstrate process routes in the laboratory and conduct remedial experimentation as required to support plant activities for root cause analysis and process improvement.
Prepare batch documentation or temporary instructions as required to support processing, out of normal operating hours.
Review and complete technical assessments on batch documentation.
Co-ordinate technical support for prevalidation/validation campaigns with staff in other departments as appropriate.
Supervise manufacturing operations and personnel for compliance to quality and ESH systems and chemistry as described in batch documentation and procedures.
Liaise with other functions such as Operations, Quality, Procurement, ESH, Analytical and Engineering on chemistry/processing issues.

Key Performance Indicators
Proactive participation in safety related systems - for example, safety meetings, safetyobservations.
Lab audit completion and action close out.
Minimising accidents and incidents in the laboratory
Project objectives and timelines, Quality, Process Yield Targets,
Material Usage Variance (MUV), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Project Milestone
Adherence, Meeting customer expectations with regard to product quality.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Chemistry Degree or commensurate experience in the pharmaceutical,agrochemical or fine chemical industry.
Understanding of chemical/batch manufacturing systems and their effective implementation.
Good understanding of the principles behind process development and scaleup
Understanding of the SHEQ challenges for both laboratory and plant operations
