The Role:
.Role Objectives:

The maintenance and development of site safety standards with specific reference to process safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve the Site Hazards Management System ensuring it complies with all regulatory process safety requirements, ensuring all major hazard implications have been appropriately assessed.

Ensure that all operational processes are designed to ensure safe and efficient running.

Work with the EHS Director and Site leadership team to create and revise the site's COMAH safety report ensuring it is always fit for purpose, including scenario planning for major incidents

Liaise with the HSE on process safety matters including the authoring of reports and action plans that strive for best practice and guarantee legal compliance.

Review and improve the Site's LOPA assessments,

Work alongside the EHS Director to ensure the Site meets the appropriate standards in:
* functional safety,
* operational human factors,
* risk quantification,
* hazardous area management,
* HAZOPs and design reviews,
* plant integrity maintenance
* reaction hazard assessments/basis of safety assessments.

Work closely with the Site's commercial team to identify the process safety implications of any new business

Liaise with the Process Engineering team to ensure that all process changes are appropriately assessed prior to implementation including new business, routine process changes and process improvements


Chair Hazops alongside the Hazard Specialist

Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, skill and experience required fall within a post holder's expected capability and commensurate with the post holder's position in the company.

* Completion of Hazard Management System requirements prior to change implementation
* Feed-back from and actions raised by regulators

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education/Qualification Required
Degree qualified in either Engineering or Chemistry

The ideal candidate will come from a process engineering background although a chemistry background with extensive process safety engineering experience will be considered.
