The Role:
Provide health and safety advice and support to projects, maintenance and subcontractors
Focal point for health and safety for all projects, maintenance and subcontractors
Monitor to ensure that non-production health and safety activities are legally compliant and the non-production health and safety initiatives for the site are implemented
Assist in ensuring that emergency response and security arrangements for the site are suitable and adequate
Ensure applicable non-production health and safety training packages are up to date and all project health and safety training packages are suitable and sufficient
Duties:
* Provide health and safety advice to projects, maintenance and subcontractors to raise health and safety standards across the site and ensuring health and safety legal compliance such as CDM.
* Focal point for projects, contractor and maintenance health and safety requirements
* Review all project, maintenance and subcontractor health and safety documentation such as the construction phase plan, RAMS etc.
* Review project, maintenance and subcontractor accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe acts and be involved in root cause analysis when required, ensure all documentation is updated.
* Assist in implementing new health and safety legislation when applicable.
* Develop safe systems of work for the project and maintenance high hazard activities or ensure that the projects and subcontractor safe systems of work are developed in line with legislation.
* Generate toolbox talks and promote TBTs within projects, maintenance and subcontractors.
* Permit system owner and where required generate permits for site
* Conduct or manage health and safety surveys - noise, light, asbestos when required.
* Champion manual handling assessments
* Assist or conduct the air monitoring requirements.
Essential
NEBOSH Cert
Chemical background and significant experience with COSHH.
Desirable:
Familiar with health and safety Management Standards (OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO45001).
MCERTS qualified
Manual Handing Assessor
NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards).
