The Role: As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your technical knowledge to provide and maintain quality design, service and commissioning of Mine Hoist Systems.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design appropriate procedures, equipment and standards to satisfy the intent of the Service commitments
  • Interpret design specifications, applications and clarify/ manage changes to scope accordingly
  • Develop and recommend products, process or system optimisation changes in order to improve system performance or to better satisfy service requirement outcomes
  • Review and analyse any issues to identify best technical solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Provide guidance and assist in interfacing between packages and client
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate activities and information with clients, suppliers and peers
  • Oversee Service Engineers and major suppliers and lead delivery of system services
  • Implement and generate detailed quality test plans to provide zero defects system solutions
  • Oversee the service team with system diagnoses, equipment or material failures
  • Generate, implement and oversee execution of Service Plans for customers
  • Oversee sub-contractors and interfacing with client in the delivery of service activities
  • Ensure documentation is compliant and deliverable's are accurately provided to appropriate quality and delivered on time
  • Ensure verification of service documentation and compliance with company directives
  • Provide technical support and service activities for new installations
  • Actively work towards improving company processes and efficiency's

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Member of Engineers Australia (CPEng)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Mine Hoist Systems - Hoist Drive Systems, Hoist Brake Systems, Hoist Control and Communication
  • Industry experience in Mining Operations, Mineral Processing Applications and Mine Hoist Applications
  • Proven experience in electrical design, delivery of projects and the implementation of protection systems
  • Proficient Control System and Drive System experience
  • Experience with DCS and PLC systems
  • Proactive and highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to health and safety with control hazard knowledge

This position is available on a permanent basis based in Brisbane with infrequent travel required for site commissioning for each project.
