Our client, a Hydroelectric Energy Company, is seeking a Construction Interface Coordinator for their site on 14/7 rotation.

The Construction Interface Coordinator will support and integrate day to day construction interface and Permit To Work coordination with site Contractors.

The position will l facilitate the day to day coordination for each of the turbine-generators, hydro-mechanical intake and draft tube gate works, balance of plant works integration with the ongoing civil works within the intake and powerhouse to ensure the overall Project schedule is maintained, while adhering to LCMC's permit to work and construction coordination philosophies.


* Review of daily, weekly, and monthly contractor construction information
* Participation in daily SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) meetings
* Participate in coordination between Contractors and between Contractors and LCP Staff in regards to short, intermediate, and long term interface planning
* Maintain records related to construction interfaces
* Maintain records related to Permit To Work for Contractors
* Participate in construction coordination meetings
* Assist the Construction Interface/Spillway Lead in assessing Contractor's schedule and progress performance to assist in planning transfer of responsibility between Contractors
* Full comprehension of all Project Milestones and their significance across the integrated schedule as well as within individual contracts.
* Participating in the development and implementation of "work-a rounds" and mitigation plans.
* Interfacing with planning, scheduling and construction management personnel from various contractors
* Interfacing with the Ready for Operations personnel as a part of commissioning and start-up planning
* Assist Construction Management Team, along with other members of the Project Delivery Team, in proactive) identifying risks, and identifying mitigations and work-around plans


* Experience 2 - 5 years on large engineering and construction projects with a focus on heavy civil and industrial projects. Combination of education / experience will be considered. Site experience is an asset.
* Working knowledge of the application and monitoring of a Permit To Work process to manage a safe work environment
* Experience with SIMOPS approach to coordinating a multiple contractor construction environment
* Past experience with piping, mechanical, and electrical installations in a construction or environment is an asset
* Experience in working as part of diverse work teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
* Experience with large national and international construction contractors.
* Experience with multiple forms of contracting.
* Adaptability to perform in demanding work environments.
* Past experience in a multi-contractor environment is an asset
