Our client is part of a major player in the field of energy and a solid, dynamic and growing concern. As a European leader in the distribution of energy and natural gas and energy services. They employ 153090 people worldwide. They have been active in the Dutch North Sea for fifty years now and currently operates 49 licenses: 19 exploration licenses and 30 production licenses. They are regarded as an important player in exploration and production of oil and gas in The Netherlands.

The Role:
The Procurement Team Lead will be leading a team of buyers working from our 2 Dutch offices, Zoetermeer and Den Helder, and will be reporting to the Category Manager Global Operations.

Main duties
- Manage the local procurement team;
- Supplier relationship management;
- Support and implement the contracting strategy set by the Category Manager;
- Ensure that cost-effective and high quality contracts are created in a timely manner in close cooperation with the Asset Manager;
- Manage local and global tender processes including contract negotiations;
- Build and maintain relationships with the category team, the Function (Assets) personnel and any other relevant Company personnel;
- Experience with SAP, preferably experience with migrating from another system to SAP procurement;
- Draft appropriate contractual and commercial terms & conditions;
- Create Purchase Orders as required;
- Provide general assistance & advice on contractual & procurement matters;

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Ability to lead an effective procurement team;
- Good communication skills;
- Planning and organizing, able to effectively indicate goals and priorities and the time, actions and resources required to be able to achieve the goals defined;
- Team player, able to collaborate with others for a common purpose;
- Independent, able to initiate and settle actions without the help of others;
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in law, business, engineering;
- Knowledge of contracts, terms and conditions, management and administration of contracts;
- Thorough understanding of contractor remuneration structures and their commercial implications;
- Minimum of 5 years practical experience in a comparable procurement role;
- Sound knowledge of information systems such as, MS Office, SAP and procurement IT systems/software;
- Excellent working knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both written and verbal;
