The Role:
We are seeking to recruit a SysOps Engineer with an understanding of supporting solutions for On Premise and Cloud deployments. This is a key role in not only ensuring that the solutions are available when needed, but also in supporting the architects and development teams to ensure the customer facing services are optimised for performance, security, cost and end-user availability.
The role will have close relationships with the following core areas of the business:
* Development - including development PMs and development directors
* Operations - including delivery PMs and Operations Directors
* Support
* IT

As such, the ability to manage relationships across the business will be a critical part of the role.

Core responsibilities are:
* Ensuring that all our environments (build, test, production) are available as required by our customers and development teams;
* Maintaining the integrity, security, privacy of these environments
* Proactive monitoring of the environments to detect potential failures or compromises
* Release management from development/test environments into production
* Monitoring of all environments (dev, test, production) ensuring full availability as required
* Development and ownership of all cloud provision and support processes
* Cost monitoring of existing cloud infrastructure and cost modelling for new requirements and new products
* Maintain the integrity, security and privacy of the cloud environments
* Maintain build pipelines facilitating continuous integration through deployment, config management and system monitoring
* Feedback to product owners and architects issues impacting services and opportunities for future improvement of products to customers
* Close liaison with development and operations to ensure that requirements from operations are understood and implemented as expected

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Suitable candidates will have proven experience in a similar role, together with most, if not all of the following attributes:
* A solid background in SaaS and Hybrid Cloud operations management
* Demonstrable experience in SaaS and Cloud related environments and technologies
* Strong understanding of system security and resilience to malicious attack
* Experience in relevant technologies such as: VMWare, Docker, AWS and the SysOps stack (Cloudwatch, Cloudformation, VPC, EC2, autoscaling, etc.), CI tooling such as Jenkins, VSTS, Swagger, etc.
