The Role:
Ensure the practice training of students in the work field of construction fitting, electrical, plating, rigging, pipefitting and welding and any other trades as requested, through facilitation and execution of course programmes in line with the requirements of the practice training and the needs in order to contribute to the intake of skilled and appropriate construction, fabrication, employees.

- To ensure all apprentices/trainees attend work/college/university.
- To recommend all apprentice/trainee training courses.
- To ensure all apprentices/trainees are working in a safety awareness environment.
- Quality, safety, health and environmental awareness (e.g. responsible for own and others safety).
- To promote improvements to existing training methods.
- To perform tasks which may be requested by management, from time to time.
- To control departmental budget costs.
- To be aware of new government training standards.
- To retrain tradesmen where necessary.
- To encourage change of direction in career prospects.
- To keep an updated training database.
- To instigate disciplinary procedures where required.
- Individual risk awareness within job role.
- Implementation of Trade Tests.
- Adjust the course programme and the corresponding teaching material preceding and during the academic year.
- Organise different facilities that refer to the course programme (e.g. the presence of teachers, teaching material and the possibilities for secondments/work placements).
- Attend exhibitions and schools and colleges, inform and possibly recruit students.
- Look after the instruction of apprentices at the Company training school and colleges and the support, training and coaching of apprentices including disciplinary actions when required during the work placement/apprentice period.
- Define instruction approach, instruct apprentices as assigned and correct their technical actions as needed.
- Request, prepare and take examinations or ensure appropriate authorities to take examinations.
- Execute a variety of administrative activities, including applications for subsidies (if applicable), processing internal allowances and updating the student database and apprentices qualification database.
- Keep in touch with the shop floor, supervision, and parties outside the organisation
(schools, occupational training, parents etc). 
- Keep abreast with the developments in the field, concerning content as well as process.
- Team Building activities.
- Arrange off-site educational visits.
- Identify and highlight any further training requirements of their personnel.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction - Preferably welding.
- An HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Communicate in a positive manner with all company personnel.
- Planning and organisational skills.
- D32 and D33 assessors' courses or equivalent.
- Computer literate.
