The Role:
Responsibilities
-The HSE Advisor supports the H&S Team Leader and serves as their representative at in field operations.
-The Advisors will: Support the Well Site Leaders and the Contractor management to continually improve safety performance
-Interact closely with contractor HSE field employees to ensure they understand and comply with BP HSE policies, procedures, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
-Facilitate pre-job planning, risk assessment, Authorize To Proceed and task hazard assessments. Have thorough knowledge of site-specific BP HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives.
-Represent the BP Health & Safety team at contractor field safety meetings, and other meetings.
-Identify and act on any contractor / BP interface issues that could compromise good HSE performance. Support toolbox and other safety meetings with project contractors. Participate in BP and contractor field incident investigations. Provide guidance and direction for Tr@ction use by field contractors.
-Ensure BP project management is informed of HSE incidents in a timely manner.
-Deliverables HSE Advisor will provide support for a wide range of activities from installation of the cellar and conductor through abandonment operations.

Expectations include:
-Participation in the up front planning through the Authorization to Proceed process and monitoring execution of the work through performance of formal and informal contractor worksite safety, health and environmental inspections.
-Review incident and near miss reports and ensure that contraction management and contractor HSE representatives are aware of relevant safety information from these reports and safety bulletins
-Report safety issues to local Supervision and to the H& S Team Leader Implement safety programs and efforts as directed by the H& S Team Leader
-Work closely with contractor representatives and their workforce to ensure adherence to HSE plans and manage any HSE interface issues Experience & Knowledge

Essential: Oil and gas Industry Experience preferable in the area of Drilling and Well Work

Essential:
-A strong knowledge base of applicable regulations and demonstrated application. Preferred: Working Knowledge of Drilling Contractor Safety Management Systems Skills/Behaviours
-Excellent communication skills; proven influencing skills
-Intermediate computer skills Any Other Relevant Information
-Will Alternate with another contract safety advisors already in place.
