Fircroft are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for a Permanent position within the North West

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a critical role within our Process & Flow Technology manufacturing team, working closely with departmental managers, production staff and suppliers you will take responsibility, as Senior Quality Engineer, to ensure quality, aiming to minimise the costs of reworking or waste and maximise customer satisfaction with our products. You will have the opportunity to use and advance your existing Quality skills in order to explore and develop methods of continuous improvement in alignment with our overall strategy and vision. Critical to this role will be your ability to document analysis of quality problems, root causes and implemented corrective actions that describe best practice by means of using manufacturing methods and problem solving tools including APQP, GMP and PPAP, 5Whys and 8D. Developing our business goes hand in hand with developing our people's skills, with the support of the Quality Manager, you will be open to career progression and continued self-development in order to reach personal and business goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensure quality requirements are well defined and understood within manufacturing. Ensure all certification and customer inspection requirements are clearly defined, co-ordinated and achieved.
* Collate, analysis and prepare product non-conformance trends to departments. Ensure the appropriate follow up to instigate improvement.
* Update Welders Qualifications to ensure on-going compliance with ASME/EN /ISO standards.
* Ensure final Inspection checks are completed including necessary certification.
* Perform internal and external Quality audits ensuring that planned arrangements are met.
* Raise Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and proactively log, follow up and progress to effective and timely closeout.
* Assist with Corrective Action Request (CAR) review meetings to establish status.
* To prepare, implement and monitor Internal and Customer Quality Plans.
* Review and revise procedures/work instructions & SOP's and other documents as required to ensure the Quality Management system reflects current working practice.
* Liaise with Suppliers to ensure Quality Requirements are met. Instigate necessary corrective actions.
* Allocated specific Customer Project Quality Duties as necessary.
* Perform Quality Inductions / Awareness training.
* Accurate completion of 3rd party and customer Quality questionnaires.
* Any other reasonable duties deemed necessary by the department manager to allow the department or the Quality Management Systems to operate effectively and efficiently.

Experience:
Working knowledge within quality audit of manufacturing environment
Understanding, implementing and improvement layered audit processes

Skills, training or special knowledge
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
QMS
Continuous Improvement Techniques including Kaizen, Lean
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Processes
5 Whys
8D problem solving
Good Manufacturing Process (GMP)
Ishikawa
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HND in a relevant engineering/manufacturing qualification or equivalent
Certified Quality Engineer

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering related subject
Lead Auditor
