The Role:
12 months with possibility of direct hire
New Orleans, LA

JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer 1 (entry level candidates)
REPORTS TO: Electrical Department Manager

DESIRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
As a minimum I expect entry level candidates to:
* Have taken and passed the Fundamentals in Engineering Exam
* Graduated with a BSEE as a minimum from an ABET Accredited university (Technology degrees are limited to design positions). Please verify that the Electrical Engineering program is ABET accredited (http://www.abet.org/accreditation/ )
* Concentration in Electrical Power courses, understands 3-phase and basic electrical power concepts

Our client is also looking for but don't absolutely require the following qualities in an entry level EE candidate:
* Meaningful internships in engineering
* Graduation in 4 to 5 years unless there is a significant reason for a delay (e.g. working and supporting a family through school, changing major, illness, etc.)
* Willingness to travel and physical ability to go offshore and safely swing from a rope to a platform
* Candidates that want to stay/live in the New Orleans area are preferred
* Candidates that participate in extracurricular activities (e.g. IEEE)

JOB SUMMARY:
The entry level Engineer is to participate in the development and implementation of electrical design requirements for the project.
* Part of an electrical design team developing electrical power generation, distribution, protection and related control systems for projects
* Preparation and review of construction drawings depicting equipment locations, interconnect wiring diagrams, wiring schematics, tray layouts, supports, cable schedules, and lighting
* Preparation and review of layouts and plans for electrical buildings and facilities
* Preparation and review of power/control philosophies and drawings
* Preparation and review of electrical generation, distribution, rotating equipment, communication and control equipment drawings, specifications and datasheets
* Preparing, analyzing and reviewing electrical models
