The Role:
The Role:

In this position the CFD will be working on the very latest of technologies within a world record breaking F1 Power Unit team, but also within our clients Automotive Division working on Hyper Car projects. The successful candidate will create 3D & 1D engine system fluid-thermo modelling and performance analysis to support delivery of high performance powertrain projects. This truly a great position for a CFD engineer to gain & transfer knowledge across two highly skilled areas of specialism in a world class company.

Your Profile:

You will have a High grade degree in a relevant engineering subject and a higher degree involving CFD and have solid knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics. As you will have be for 3D and 1D engine system fluid-thermo modelling and performance analysis it is essential you to have a good understanding of internal combustion engine and charging fundamentals. Be able to use 1D modelling methods, and a practical approach to realising theoretical principles. A proven competence in 3D geometry preparation, meshing, Linux HPC cluster environment, and user coding is essential and capability with the application of Star-CD & CCM+ to IC engine moving mesh fuel spray, and combustion modelling would be particularly advantageous.

Our Client is involved in the design and manufacture of Formula 1 racing engines and hybrid power systems.
In addition to its F1 Powertrain business, our client also undertakes, advanced, high technology projects in order to transfer F1 technologies and know-how into mainstream automotive and high performance road cars.
