The Role:
This position is the Lead Mechanical Engineering (Technical Authority), accountable for all UK operated assets, assuring that asset integrity is assured and facilities are developed, operated and maintained within their design envelope.

* Accountable for evaluating and either accepting or rejecting all mechanical related modifications, deferrals and deviations from the original design intent.
* Accountable for the safe and efficient delivery of the Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS)
* Accountable for on-going technical assurance for the integrity of all mechanical systems and associated equipment
* Accountable for ensuring the structural model / PDMS is kept up to date for assigned assets and incorporates all future modifications.
* Accountable for evaluation and technical assurance of all mechanical modifications carried out on operated assets after handover from major projects.
* Safety & Environmentally Critical Element (SECE) owner
* Responsible for identifying the need for, and carrying out Performance Standard Non-Conformances (PSNCs)
* Responsible for ensuring that designated assets are operated within their design envelope, legislation and current best practice guidance
* Responsible for promoting activities that improve mechanical equipment (static & rotating) reliability & integrity
* Review and approval of discipline specific Offshore Risk Assessment (ORA) and Management of Change (MOC)
* Review and approve work orders deferrals on safety critical equipment
* Review, advise and audit performance on non-operated assets
* Take part in technical committee meetings both for operated and non-operated assets.
* Assist in developing, monitoring and maintaining records and trends to support on-going equipment reliability and integrity programs
* Study / preparation of specifications for minor and major modification work, development of BOD's and SOW
* Participation in HAZOPs / HAZID's and operability studies.
* Provide mentoring and guidance to other mechanical engineers

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Chartered Mechanical Engineer with relevant experience in both projects and operations
* Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering, guidance and legislation, as it is applied by an E&P Operator in the UKCS
* Supervisory and management experience
* Be able to demonstrate commitment to safety and lead by example
* Enthusiastic about mentoring and developing others
* Commercial awareness
* Ability to work under pressure and without supervision
