The Role:
The Logistics Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that the logistics and material management services delivered to the company operations are safe, cost effective and delivered in a timely manner.
The Logistics Team Lead also ensures that the group achieves maximum value in its logistical activity, whilst ensuring good business practises and the highest ethical standards are adhered to all times.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for the Material and Logistics team and will provide coordination to all UK assets with respect to logistics priorities and support requirements for the activities.
* Manage contractual relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure the most effective and innovative contracting strategies are developed to maximise value.
* Advise, co-ordinate and manage the need for tender and awards for medium- to long-term vessel charters, aviation, cargo handling and base operation contacts. Charter vessels and aviation on an ad-hoc basis for short duration charters as and when required.
* Act as the focal point for materials, logistics and inventory control requirements to ensure that all commercial/business undertakings are put in place on the most cost-effective and minimal risk basis and in accordance the appropriate procedures
* Provide advice and guidance to onshore and offshore teams/departments on logistics and materials issues, whilst ensuring standardisation across the assets.
* Provide leadership and direction to team members and ensure the delivery of team objectives. Manage the performance of team members e.g. conduct appraisals, identify training and development needs, participate in recruitment, selection and induction processes
* Participate in the tendering, evaluation and negotiation process in relation to the award of services agreements in relation to the logistics requirements and make recommendations to management.
* Manage contractual relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure the most effective and innovative contracting strategies and develop highly positive and constructive relationships with suppliers.
* Maintain strong market knowledge of logistics and materials initiatives and strategies. Work with other operators to maximise leverage and knowledge sharing opportunities.
* Ensure commercial and contractual risk is considered in all technical documentation and that the company is not exposed to undue contractual risk.
* Develop strategies for continuous improvement, value creation and cost reduction opportunities within the procurement and materials arena.
* Undertake visits to offshore installations/vessels, project sites and contractor bases/worksites.
* Responsible for Warehousing and Inventory Management, strategy and control.



INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES
* Deliver specific and measurable results across a broad, complex area through management of diverse internal and external resources and partners.
* Maintain close working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure understanding and cooperation towards promoting the companies interests and achieving results.
* Liaise appropriately with all contractors and subcontractors as required.


REQUIRED COMPETENCES/ QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / PROFILE
* Relevant vocational qualification or significant related logistics and materials experience.
* Appropriate experience from a relevant field/ discipline, with supervisory experience.
* Requires in depth knowledge of the oil & gas industry.
* Strong ability to motivate, persuade and influence others (internally and externally)
* Up to date knowledge of Industry and Regulatory practices
