Mechanical Engineer (Rotating and Static)

The Role:
Provide mechanical engineering support on both rotating and static equipment to the Operated UK Assets organisation. Also, provide support and advice by applying technical knowledge about theoretical concepts and principles in a specialized area acquired through an academic qualification.


* Responsible for the integrity of rotating and static mechanical equipment and systems
* Provide support to the Lead Mechanical Engineers requirements
* Provide engineering support and guidance to offshore operation, modifications and contract and service personnel. Ability to troubleshoot and provide guidance on all static and mechanical equipment
* Review engineering documentation on all modification proposals for rotating and static mechanical equipment
* Assist in the development of BOD's, specifications and SOW
* Contract responsible (company or technical representative) for dedicated mechanical contracts
* Provide backup for other mechanical disciplines including maintenance engineers
* Apply technical and professional knowledge and experience to provide specialist support
* Develop procedures and job step plans relating to operations, design and maintenance
* Day to day monitoring and trending of critical mechanical equipment using specialist software (PI, System 1)
* Analyse and follow up on condition monitoring reports relevant for the discipline
* Analyse and interpret information and data based on own technical knowledge and expertise.
* Make professional/technical recommendations and offer insight which contributes to the development of wider solutions to business issues and problems.
* Although tasks are defined by others, the job may hold explicit responsibility for delivering one part of a wider project within own discipline with some complexity and size.
* Will participate in Peer review presentations.
* Participates in meetings of new business opportunities.
* Understanding of the LOLER regs and management of the lifting equipment database
* Raise, facilitate and support execution of Brownfield modifications
* Directly drive and contribute to Technical Query process
* Lead and contribute to technical MoC's


* Operational contracts for mechanical equipment
* Engineering design, construction and commissioning contractors

* The position is located in the Assets (Norge, Netherlands, UK) of the respective country.
* Travel is expected to other geographical entities .

REQUIRED COMPETENCES/ QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / PROFILE
* Degree Qualified Mechanical Engineer with previous 5 years+ operations experience in both rotating and static equipment
* Current working knowledge of mechanical engineering standards and legislation, guidance and legislation, as it is applied by an E&P operator in the UK NS sector.
* Offshore experience necessary
* Be able to demonstrate commitment to safety, lead by example
* Enthusiastic about engineering
* Commercial awareness
* An ability to work under pressure
