The Role:
IT Support and Liaise with IT, Subsurface, Cegal to support on the UK Geocloud;
o Identify irregularities and help diagnosis any symptoms on the UK Geocloud
o IT Support for users on any subsurface application, Connect, Portal and SAN subsurface infrastructure
o Consulting with Cegal\IT on any infrastructure issue and changes required for the UK Geocloud.
o Update and maintain subsurface applications on the Geocloud
o Communicate with users on when there is service downtime or interruptions.
· Provide system maintenance and upgrade to the e-Map infrastructure; ArcGIS Server environment upgrades and testing. Liase with GIS and Subsurface to maintain and troubleshoot any software issues related to the ArcGIS and Geocortex Servers for UK e-Map.
· Maintain, configure and troubleshoot any software issues related to the Prosource System environment
· Provide technical support for the reservoir engineer Cygnus group
o maintain, configure and troubleshoot systems and workflows in systems such as Kappa Server
o and applications t-Navigator, Ecrin, Kraken, Eclipse's and more
· Administer and provide access to the users to EP Catalog
· Be proactive and build relationships of trust with the users' community; provide them with support whereas that is required and appropriate, with the aim to maximise their productivity. Liase and work with EPI Subsurface application management team, EPI IT, EPI Data Management, GIS, EPI Subsurface, , Operations and Commercial teams on a frequent bases.
· Liase with DM and IT to assist with optimizing disk capacity on files system; help project forecast future disk space; project archiving, assess and monitor of projects and seismic volumes.
· Provides assistance in 1st line IT Support onsite in London
· Exchanging backup tapes Onsite in London for Iron Mountain to collect and IT Server teams to inventory.
· Install applications licensing software on licenses servers and make sure that software licenses are up and running with no disruptions. Install new licenses files when required, and also produce documentation that allows the control of the various licensing software.
· Investigate new releases of currently used software and create a line of communication with software vendors so as to understand new configurations, which might have an impact on the current IS environment. Produce reports.
· Following new software requests, and software upgrades, prepare documentation and pursue the approval of managers directly impacted by the use of such software. Raise change requests to our internal Change Advisory Board, for upgrades and new installations. Provide information about: the original requests for such actions, plans for deployment of software, and any other aspect the CAB might need to be aware of before allowing any change.
· Liaise with internal software users to properly prepare software tests. Liaise with Subsurface Managers who need to approve the users' tests responses. Liaise with software vendors in cases of software issues during tests, and try fixing the problems to finish the tests. Generate Test environments, Testing schedule and plans and carry out application testing on Subsurface applications.
· Once new releases have been tested and approved produce detailed documentation and procedures to be passed to the Service Desk so as to make them able to install the software on the users' workstations. Cooperate with the Service Desk and any other infrastructure IS group, for technical matters that are related to software applications.
· Interact with the technical database manager so as to agree in advance for installations of software which requires the use of databases. Cooperate with the data management group for technical matters that are related to software applications (use of storage, data loading).
· Understand the basic functionality of each application, to ensure a broad view of the current applications portfolio.
· Help investigate performance issues associated with applications along with Service Desk.
· Help implement Business Continuity Plans for critical applications.
· Make sure the DML (Definitive Media Library) contains the right information about software in use: licenses, versions, and other basic information.
· In administering the software applications, and any other activity, make sure that internal policies and procedures are followed accordingly.
· Maintain a constant line of communication with the IT Subsurface Manager to ensure every action in relation to software applications is approved at a higher level. Keep him/her/them informed of the current status of the applications, software usage, any critical issue, and other matters that could imperil the internal use of the company business software.
· Make sure Application Team site portal pages are frequently updated with the relevant documents to assist the users.
· Help implement software applications Best Practises and Guidelines for the IS and subsurface users.
· Help arrange training workshops, vendor meetings, lunch and learn sessions.
· Organise workstations for farm-in/out datarooms.
· Work with affiliates and provide applications knowledge, support and application licenses services.
· Provide 24/7 standby supports towards subsurface applications issues during drilling campaigns.
· Assist with optimising applications project performance to work efficiently with the software, hardware and infrastructure.
· Assist with creating software deployment packages to deploy applications via SCCM to the users machines.
