The Role: Site Maintenance Operative / Handyperson
1. Carry out maintenance requests (assigned via internal maintenance request system) ensuring prompt follow up with stakeholders.
2. Meet and monitor contractors, ensuring safe work according to method statements and permit to work.
3. Ensure electronic databases and files are updated with completed work.
4. Comply with Q & HSE systems and complete all required training.
5. Work closely with the Facilities Manager to support facilities project delivery
6. Be available to assist with site Emergency Response activities
7. Provide cover for Facilities dept during absence
Education
-Good basic education essential (minimum GCSE Grade C English & Maths)
-Basic health and safety knowledge (IOSH or NEBOSH advantageous)
This role is 35 hours a week - 7.30am to 3pm
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Relevant general facilities and equipment maintenance experience.
-Mechanical maintenance experience advantageous.
-Experience of contractor control advantageous
-Experience of working against a permit to work advantageous
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
-Computer literate (Microsoft Office Applications and other internal systems)
-Organised approach
-Driving licence
-Forklift licence desirable
