The Role

Due to the continuous success of their Australian operations and project wins, our client currently has an opportunity for an experienced Water &/or Wastewater Planning Engineer to join their well-established team and assist in leading landmark Australian water projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Water and/or wastewater planning
  • Hydraulic modelling
  • Concept design and feasibility studies
  • Prepare, manage and plan project proposals and tenders
  • Guide and promote Safety in Design
  • Preparation of technical calculations, reports and engineering drawings
  • Project and Design Management for multiple projects of varying size or discrete work packages
  • Client, stakeholder and municipal engagement
  • Project tracking, scoping and delivery

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil) or equivalent
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) &/or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
  • Typically between 10 to 15 years' relevant industry experience (previous QLD experience would be advantageous)
  • Skill in water and/or wastewater planning - at either a master planning or detailed planning level
  • Experience in the delivery of detailed Planning Projects including writing complex planning reports
  • Experience delivering detailed Design Tasks associated with Civil and Hydraulic Elements of Wastewater projects
  • Wastewater calibration experience is advantageous (but not essential)
  • High level of proficiency using industry-standard water and wastewater models, including; SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater and Water GEMS
  • Experience using GIS packages, including MapInfo and ArcGIS
  • Skilled in the preparation of Project Proposals
  • An aptitude for managing budgets, systems and timeframes to achieve exceptional outcomes
  • Client relationship management experience
  • Knowledge of technical standards, legislation, codes of practice and Australian standards
  • Project Management and Design Management experience on projects of varying complexity and size
  • A strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication with the ability work well in a team environment
  • Exemplary communication skills with a passion for leading and mentoring junior engineers
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment &/or Water Authority (ideally).
