The Role:
Reporting into the Construction Manager, the Construction Superintendent will provide support in the areas of field supervision, planning, quality monitoring and construction management.

The position will be integral to the Central Works packages (Construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning) for the Mineral Sands project.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities and direct experience in construction and commissioning of gravity separation plants, mineral preparation, screening and pumping.

This is a short term contract DIDO position from Perth.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure compliance in line with the Mines Safety and inspection Act 1994 and Implement all aspects of the HSEC Procedures
  • Monitor and support the work of contractors and consultants to ensure contract and project objectives are achieved
  • Ensure site entry requirements for plant, equipment and personnel are complied with
  • Attend kick-off, daily pre-start and weekly meetings with consultants and contractors
  • Liaise with key stakeholders regarding project scope, objectives and progress
  • Assess the site content of claims made by contractors and assist to resolve disputes on contract documentation interpretation
  • Review proposed and actual changes to project implementation and contractor / consultant schedules
    Preempt problems that may affect the progress or performance of work and recommend solutions

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Extensive Construction and commissioning experience on a mining start-up project
  • Structural, Mechanical, Piping or Electrical background preferred
  • Excellent people and project management skills
  • Trade qualification preferred but not essential
