The Role:
The Civil Engineering Field Superintendent: Well Delivery delivers in country (Mozambique) oversight, supervision and management on all field civil construction activities, Well Delivery is responsible for. The position provides assurance that field activities are constructed in an efficient, technically competent, safe, cost effective and environmentally responsible manner. The position reports to the Field Superintendent at the Client Supply base in Mozambique with a functional line into the Well Engineering Lead in London.

Tasks include but may not be limited to:
1. Ensure Civil Engineering Projects are completed and are fully compliant with company policies, procedures and legal requirements, particularly safety and ensuring safe systems of work.
2. Liaise with the Regulatory bodies, including SHE, review and make recommendations on health, safety and environmental regulations and strategies to ensure compliance.
3. Provide progress reports as required to business and functional management teams
4. Project planning and scheduling,
5. Monitor cost control activities and implementation of corrective actions as needed to achieve the established Project objectives
6. Ensure the collection of Project feedbacks and participate in post project review
7. Assist with the technical enquiries from the civil engineering contractor
8. Maintain open communications with other site staff reviewing deliverables on a daily basis,
9. Proactive coordination of interfaces with other functions both within the project teams, and partner organisations
10. Ensure objectives are understood by all personnel, and are delivered
11. Maintains continuous familiarity with daily operations to ensure full understanding of issues, operational problems, cost
12. Coordinate Civil Supervisors and SHE Supervisors on Well Delivery work sites in country and report to Civil Engineering Team Lead
13. Assist with the management of consultancy services in relation to construction activities, such as geotechnics, surveying, structural design and engineering.

Minimum of 10+ years of international experience in a broad range of job functions covering civil engineering and construction activities in support to the oil and gas industry
1. Experience of operations in various environments including; Onshore/ Remote / Harsh locations with challenging logistical issues
2. Experience of a wide range of civil engineering activities including the planning and executing of complex construction projects
3. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience managing engineering teams consisting of staff and consultants within a medium sized operator
4. Proven track record of consistently delivering construction projects within Budget, Schedule, SHE and Quality targets.
5. A proven track record of career progression
6. Knowledge and experience of running civil engineering and construction operations, and low cost operations.
7. Work experience in remote locations
8. Demonstrable experience mentoring and developing trainee engineers
9. Ability to proactively work in geographically dispersed teams
10. Experience in the construction and operation of facilities in relation to well drilling, infrastructure, logistics and camp facilities in remote and harsh locations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. A BSc / BEng Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience
2. Fluency in written and spoken use of the English language is required (Working knowledge of other languages would be an advantage)
3. Excellent written, spoken, communication, presentation and report writing skills are required
4. Extensive civil engineering experience particularly within the upstream oil and gas industry
5. Advanced knowledge of industry normal practices associated with civil engineering and construction
6. Recognition of importance of SHE and embedding good practices.
7. Familiar with API & other recognized industry standards & recommended practices.
8. Understanding of commercial drivers and impact on civil engineering and construction activities in a remote location
9. Good leadership and coaching skills.
10. Team player and able to lead when required; initiative, self-starter
11. Cultural empathy.
12. Open and honest; integrity
13. Technical confidence and independence to prog
