Job Title: Senior Completions Engineer
Location & Mode: Office based in London (or remote) / Contractor 1 year renewable contract
Reports: Directly to the Lead Completion Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior Completion Engineer provides all the detailed completion design, engineering and planning support for onshore gas producer, oil producer and water disposal wells to facilitate the delivery of high-quality fit for purpose wells.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures all wells and completion & workover operations are appropriately designed to meet policy requirements in terms of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and Well Engineering Standards.
Responsible for detailed completion design including preparation of the Basis for Well Design for multiple completion types
Preparation of detailed completion and workover operational programs that adhere to policies and management system
Responsible for the preparation of detailed AFE's for completion and workover operations based on a P1 time and cost simulation
Liaises with Completion Operations Engineer in the field to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high quality fit for purpose wells
Liaises closely with Drilling Engineers, Fluids Advisor, Asset Teams and Well Services to ensure well designs and operation procedures are fit for purposes meting the expectations of multiple stakeholders
Coordinates all completion/workover equipment call offs and service mobilisation with Logistics and Supply Chain counterparts
Contract holder for strategic completions/workover/intervention contracts as part of the contractor management framework
Responsible for troubleshooting technical and engineering issues to support field operations as well as supporting RCA investigations and failure investigations with third party service providers
Responsible as the completion focal point for liaising between all service contractor personnel prior to operations
Ensuring all service contractors execute the completion/workover operation as per the final agreed completion program, any deviation will be raised by Management of Change (MoC) to be approved by Well Delivery senior management
Responsible for implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines relating to completion design and operations
Specification and timely ordering of all necessary equipment for field operations with the appreciate level of QA/QC clearly specified
Tracks and analyses major NPT and non-conformance events to ensure lessons learned are captured to ensure continual improvement, playing an active role in building a high functioning Well Delivery Team
Supports operational excellence by reviewing KPIs at QPRs to drive continuous performance improvement
Function as a safety leader at all times to play an active role in establishing a culture that ensures SHE and operational risks have been assessed and that appropriate mitigation and all necessary contingency plans are in place prior to commencing operations
Deliver effective support, advice, and resources to Operations teams and Functional groups and support Mozambican personnel in their achievement of their personal development plans and nationalization targets
Responsible for preparing well specific risk assessments and preparing complete/workover well on paper workshops
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 10 years completion experience with at least 5 years' working for an operator (including work in remote locations)
Bachelors or more advanced degree in an engineering discipline is preferred
Specific technical experience of; selective multizone completions, sand control systems, horizontal wells, tubing conveyed perforating, upper completion technology (safety valve, packers, chemical injection downhole gauges, etc.), wireline (basic log interpretation CBL/VDL USIT and correlation techniques), slickline (basic wireline fundamentals, plug setting operations fishing tools and intervention), coiled tubing (basic fundamentals including downhole coiled tubing tools), drilling and completion fluids, wellbore clean up tool fundamentals and practices. Experience of intelligent completion systems would be advantageous

Excellent written and verbal communicator able to challenge detailed engineering concepts in an open and constructive style
