The Role:
This is a perm role, looking for a candidate with 1 years' experience in HSE, great opportunity to join a training programme and progress.

HSE Services

This is a critical Facilities role, the HSE Specialist will predominantly be working to set up, establish in use and maintain the correct Schlumberger compliant systems on site to ensure compliant operations. Indicative activities will include:
* Personal responsibility to engage and complete Schlumberger HSEPro training. Recognised as equivalent to NEBOSH Diploma parts 1 &2 and linked directly to grade and salary progression.
* Duty of care auditing of Waste contractors and service delivery
* Setting up, coordinating and delivering training to site personnel to cover; personnel and contractor induction training, DSE, Manual Handling, waste handling, management and disposal, spill control and environmental emergency response, both classroom and practical activities
* Reviewing current signage and labelling requirements
* Establishing and training CoSHH management systems and technique
* Review of site REACH compliance
* Review of site packaging regs compliance
* Preparation for shipping of hazardous and WEEE waste offsite, including documentation and transfer notes.

* Preferably study to degree level (BSc).
* Evidence of HSE study for a nationally recognised; IOSH, IEMA or similar, Health, Safety and / or Environmental qualification. Or, be at an advanced stage of working toward such qualifications.
* The successful individual will have at least 1-years working experience in an HSE role or role with significant element of HSE responsibilities
* Relevant experience of working in a compliance driven, high risk industrial sector; oil & gas, aviation, chemical manufacturing etc. and familiarity with corporate HSE management systems in those environments would also be considered
* Knowledge and experience of research environments beneficial
* The role requires a high degree of independent action, must be self-motivated and must have excellent interpersonal skills.
* Fluent and Literate in (UK) English.
* PC literate; working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel. Internet literate and able to use Web based tools.
* Able to show an appreciation of the relative costs and benefits (legal, reputational & financial) of potential courses of actions to make informed choices
* Able to analyse workload to develop goals, plans to organise their own work. Develop priorities based on business need.
* Able to objectively monitor and assess themselves, others and the Facilities / HSE department for opportunities to improve performance.
* Recognise when decisions have implications beyond the scope of this role and escalate appropriately for clarification, advice and support.
