The Role:
The Project Engineer will provide support to a small team of Project Managers across all phase of technical Oil & Gas projects in delivery phase. This is an administrative position, which will include tasks of a technical nature.

The role entails exposure to day to day project support in an oil production environment, with the benefit of being involved from an early phase right through to commissioning. Projects are predominantly based in Africa and comprise a mix of greenfield and brownfield workscopes associated with Oil & Gas production, including maintenance and day-to-day operational support. As such, previous exposure to an upstream environment is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Able to perform in a hands on role, is self-managed, and provides day to day support to a small team of Project Managers under PM leadership direction.
* Role will involve occasional hands on technical delivery mixed with project engineering support and business support activities.
* An ability to work on a variety of projects at any one time.
* Support PMs in delivering brownfield oil/gas projects from pre-FEED stage to detail design and construction and commissioning support.
* Liaison with engineering contractors, construction and commissioning teams.
* Provision of support to multi discipline projects.
* Co-operate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants/stakeholders to provide assistance and technical/administrative support.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Honours or Masters degree qualification in an engineering discipline (chemical / mechanical / electrical / controls)
* At least 5 years' experience in upstream oil and gas gained within a front end or detail design projects environment.
* Experience of onshore oil and gas processing facilities, onshore Africa experience would be advantageous.
* Experience of cost effective execution and fit for purpose brownfield engineering solutions.
* Preferable to have previous experience either in an Operator, or working with an Operator for a third party such as a front end consultant, however this is not mandatory.
* Previous exposure to project management within a team working for a Project Manager, including a basic understanding of project delivery (e.g. CVP), scheduling, coordinating and monitoring projects, cost estimates and cost reporting.
* Shall have an agile approach, self-organised, and be able to work in a small team with little supervision.
* Understanding of EPC engineering processes.
