The Role:
A leading player in the Oil & Gas sector is now seeking a Contracts & Procurement Specialist based in Brisbane on a 12 month contract with possibility of extension.

In this role you will be working with an experienced team across a broad range of categories supplying end to end expertise including the sourcing, selection, awarding and commercial management of goods and services required by East Coast and Downstream Operations, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participate and take lead when assigned to develop, write, train, implement, maintain and participate in audits of Company/Department processes, procedures and systems.
  • Interpret risk management outcomes into appropriate contractual safeguards.
  • Prepare pre-qualification and invitation to tender documentation including co- ordination with relevant functions - HSE, Logistics, Finance, Legal and Employee Relations.
  • Co-ordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders and procurement approval processes and reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate commercial and contractual bid documentation; co-ordinate input from technical, HSE, HR, QA, Finance and other functional evaluations.
  • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with suppliers in conjunction with legal, tax and the appropriate contract manager.
  • Prepare contract award recommendations documentation.
  • Manage ongoing contract and purchase order administration, including preparation of contract variations, Contractual Claims, Contract Supplements and the management of contract expenditure against approved contract ceiling values.

To be successful you will have tertiary qualifications in business, law or an engineering discipline as well as 5 + years recent contracts and procurement experience. You will also need:

  • 5 + years recent industry experience in the resources, chemical processing, refinery and/ or oil and gas industries.
  • Knowledge of tendering and contracting and contract management processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong customer and client relationships and networks.
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment with strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of HSE Management System policies and procedures
  • SAP experience
  • Awareness of Australian Contract law within Oil and Gas Supply Chain
