The Role:
Engineering & Operations delivery:
 Provide detailed well design and engineering to optimise performance and deliver maximum long term value. In particular, detailed well operations programs generation including contingency plans.
 Investigate best practices/learning and incorporate them into design and operational procedures. Optimize well design in line with cost, functionality and safety metrics. Evaluate and propose alternative well designs and technologies.
 Develop the execution plan for use in Technical Limit activities. Manage technical input on budget for the well including detailed time and cost estimates.
 Manage and coordinate service providers input into well planning and operations activity. Identify and order key long lead items required for well operations.
 Coordinate and filter Master Equipment Lists. Facilitate scheduling and procurement requirements for well operations. Ensure individual well Cost Estimates are prepared in a timely manner and monitor daily costs.

HSE / Integrity Management:
 Ensure HSE and integrity policies are incorporated into designs and procedures.
 Demonstrate personal HSE leadership.
 Utilise safety management systems to maintain a high level of safety awareness.
 Identify risk and develop risk mitigation plan.
 Attend appropriate HSE training and work safety inputs and actions with team members.

Standards & Processes:
 Deliver plans according to Company guidelines within the agreed planning schedule. Prepare wells engineering dispensations. Maintain validity of documents through relevant process.
 Coordinate Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) work performed by service companies. Raise, follow up and close Non Conformance Reports when appropriate
 Ensure compliance with well Equipment Assurance Program as required.
 Perform and document comprehensive risk assessment for operations. Complete Risk register matrix and close all actions prior to planned operations
 Capture all pertinent performance data for reporting. QA/QC daily reports. Deliver Final Well Report and hold post well review with integrated team.
 Review and implement fit for purpose technology into well design in line with cost control.

The Company:
A global Oil & Gas operator with extensive operations in the Caspian Region.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
 Bachelors (or similar) degree in engineering.
 10 years' experience working in the oil industry for either an operator or service company.
 Minimum of 6 years of drilling engineering planning and design experience incl. Basis of Design, cost estimating/modelling, hydraulics, torque & drag modelling, pore pressure modelling, casing design, bit optimisation, Well Placement and Directional Drilling Planning, Bottom Hole Assembly Design, drilling fluids and cementing programmes.
 Experience planning and designing Wells for Semi-submersible rigs, Platforms, rig based work-over operations
 Previous work experience in the Caspian Sea in drilling engineering role either with Major International Oil Company or National Oil Company
 Valid Industry accredited Well Control for Subsea and Surface Supervisory Level: International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), International Well Control Forum (IWCF) WellCap.
 Minimum Upper Immediate English Profficiency

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
 Master's degree in engineering
 Experience in High Pressure, Extended Reach Drilling, Narrow Margin Frac/Pore Pressure, Managed Pressure Drilling, Casing Wear Management
 Demonstrable capabilities of developing, training and coaching less experienced wells engineers
 Implementation of knowledge management plans, Technical Limit, capturing lessons learnt and integration into future drilling design programmes & procedures.
 Technology transfer engagement and Technical Input in wells related contracts
 Ability to create engineering studies in support of future well activities
 Implementation of knowledge management plan ensuring capturing of lessons learnt from execute stage and integration into future procedures.
 Aptitude to innovate and be open to new ideas, networking and global technical knowledge sharing.
 Offshore operational wells experience on semisubmersible rigs, HTHP wells, underbalanced drilling, rig based workover operations or coiled tubing drilling.
