The Role:
Job Description: Under general guidance of supervisor or more experienced engineer, perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. Pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction.

Basic Function: Plan, conduct or coordinate complex assignments in the quality assurance technical field. Serve as consultant and advise managers and customers regarding advanced quality assurance technical studies and related issues, their implications and the resolution of complex problems. Proactively develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.

Typical duties/responsibilities for quality may include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Experience in managing 3rd party product approvals (FM, ATEX, PED, etc.) through the entire life cycle from development of the application to periodic inspections.
-Counsel management in resolving complex, controversial problems requiring in-depth knowledge of technical aspects of quality assurance and agency requirements.
-Provide technical guidance to engineers planning or reviewing technical aspects of inquiries, proposals and purchase orders related to supplier production capability, quality planning and estimates, and special quality equirements.
-Survey and evaluate prospective or current suppliers for their capability to meet quality requirements. Counsel suppliers and customers, recommending changes as appropriate to improve quality and optimize their operations.
-Conduct independent research on projects of major significance to the Company, typically involving conceptual studies, sophisticated analytical techniques, and novel and unconventional approaches.
-plan, assemble and present to senior management and customers, data on projects of a highly theoretical, complex operational nature, with related performance schedules, economic justification, benefits analysis and recommendations.
-complexity of Tasks: Requires thorough knowledge of engineering disciplines plus extensive experience, knowledge and expertise in all significant technical aspects of quality assurance. Requires excellent communication skills to negotiate effectively with suppliers, customers and internal groups, and ability to coordinate activities involving various technical disciplines. Requires ability to manage diverse quality programs, anticipate potential problems and opportunities, make independent decisions involving complex quality matters that have significant contract implications, and develop innovative solutions to problems. Erroneous decisions are likely to result in significant delays, rework, inefficient use of resources, and adversely affect customer relations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and 8 to 12 years of experience
-alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
