The Role:
General Purpose:
An accounts payable accountant is generally responsible for processing invoices and issuing payments. A number of related tasks are included in this function.


Reports to: Finance Manager



Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Review and verify invoices and cheque requests
- Sort, code and match invoices to purchase orders, etc.
- Set invoices up for payment
- Enter and upload invoices into the ERP system
- Track expenses and process expense reports
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
- Prepare and perform cheque runs
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Maintain vendor files
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Produce monthly reports (e.g. AP aging report)
- Assist with month end closing
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Record fixed assets and depreciation
- Record other assets and liabilities
- Record other revenue and expenses
- Prepare and record accruals and provisions
- Processing of journal vouchers
- Verify monthly tax submission
- Intercompany transactions & reconciliations
- Month-end / year-end closing
- Prepare monthly main balance sheet accounts reconciliations
- Prepare supporting information of FS
- Support (statutory) audits and providing information for auditors

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred
- 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Have background to do full function (AP, AR, and GL).
- Intermediate English language skills preferred
- Knowledge of accounts payable
- Knowledge of office administration and procedures
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures & principles
- Proficient in relevant computer software (i.e. Express)
- Proficient in data entry and management
