The Role:
The Finance Manager is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP / IFRS.

- Management:
* Manage outsourced functions (e.g. tax advisory)
* Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
* Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations (e.g. operating wind farm companies = SPVs), especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures

- Transactional Accounting (AP, AR, GL):
* Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
* Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
* Process payroll in a timely manner
* Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
* Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
* Maintain the chart of accounts
* Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
* Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
* Carry out assigned data entry/review/approval tasks in accordance with the Procure-to-Pay approval matrix.

- Corporate Banking & Financing:
* Produce monthly annual corporate cash flow forecast with actual vs. forecast comparison for the previous month.
* Maintain a corporate loan repayment schedule and ensure timely repayments
* Arrange opening/closing of bank accounts, electronic banking system, cheque books, etc. as required
* Ensure all corporate bank covenants and undertakings are met for are met (e.g. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants)

- Corporate Reporting & Budgeting:
* Issue timely and complete company and SPV financial statements and financial management reports
* Coordinate the preparation of the annual company and SPV statutory reports
* Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
* Manage the production of the annual company budget and periodic forecasts

- Corporate Taxes:
* Comply with government and revenue department reporting requirements
* Ensure timely submission of all tax filings (e.g. CIT, WT, VAT, BT, etc.)
* Coordinate the provision of information to the revenue department for tax audits
* Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Fluent in English language
* Proficient in office administration and procedures
* Proficient in general accounting procedures & principles (GAAP, IFRS)
* Strong Excel and database skills, Access experience preferred
* Proficient in relevant computer software (i.e. Xero)
* Organizing and prioritizing

* Ability to meet deadlines

* Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, and preferably also a Master's degree in one of these fields
* Preferred is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or similar designations
* 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
