The Role:
Located in Midland, TX
12 month contract

Support the DSM with day to day safety responsibilities stationed on one rig and staying onsite

* Minimum 5 years experience as a Paramedic, EMT, and / or safety professional background with higher education.
* Can have less than 5 years experience if they possess 2 or 4 year degree in Safety.

The SSHE Site Lead is the onsite embodiment of safety that is integral to operations. The relationship and mutual support between the SSHE Site Leader and Drilling Site Manager (DSM) is critical for a successful operation. The SSHE Site Leader and DSM will work together in achieving expectations below.

The following list are the bare minimums that all SSHE Site Leaders are expected to do.

SSHE Site Leaders will:
1. Prepare material for and verbally participate in both PTSMs.
a. Reinforce Safe Choice principles, LSA focus, and bowtie usage
b. Review learnings from past high AHL / PHL events on First day back on hitch.
c. Review the previous tours boss cards
2. Steward daily sign-in sheets and orientations for personnel entering location during their tour.
3. Verbally participate in critical JSAs and PJSMs.
4. Support critical operations by observing, intervening, and fostering a stop work authority culture.
5. Provide oversight and field verification checks to LSA / PTW activities.
6. Complete weekly rig assessments in Iscout.
7. Complete bi-weekly / after rig move spill assessment in Iscout.
8. Complete post rig move / pre-spud rig inspections and input in Iscout.
9. BOS cards: daily entry into Iscout and face-to-face review with DSMs; weekly review of leading indicators with field team.
10. Complete OIMS inspection documentation.
11. Daily input of safety checks and man hours into Well View.
12. Understand LSAs and utilize the safety handbook.
13. Facilitate all incident investigations inclusive of pictures, interviews, facts, and documentation.
14. Facilitate weekly hazard hunts
15. Attend one spring and one fall session of the bi-annual SSHE / DSM meetings.
16. Make face to face relief at the rig site and provide actionable relief notes. Tuesdays at 1400 hours.
17. Immediately elevate concerns to their SSHE Field Supervisor.

* BOP testing / Nipple up / down
* Casing operations
* Cementing operations
* Non-routine tasks
* All tasks associated with LSAs / PTW

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition in all level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3: Proactively communicate relevant SSHE alerts, information and themes to assist the workforce in a better understanding of relevant hazards and safe practices. - Review the work permits submitted by Contractors on site to ensure compliance with procedures. - Conduct frequent surveillance in the field to observe work activities and address unsafe behaviors and conditions when needed. - Coordinate and ensure new project employees, contractors and visitors are given site specific SSHE orientations as required. - Attend and actively participate in various SSHE meetings and communicate relevant information to project team members. - Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors at site and utilize STOP WORK AUTHORITY as appropriate. - Prepare and deliver safety training presentations to project team members and contractor workforce as needed. - Ensure compliance with SSHE processes and procedures during pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities. - Ensure close-out of all project SSHE documentation and prepare records retention in accordance with company guidelines. - Participate in development of SSHE project "Lessons Learned" as appropriate. - Provides guidance and direction during emergency situations in particular relating to fire response, casualty management and rescue and safe procedures for controlling and containing accidental releases, including unintended leaks, spills, discharges, and emissions. - Training coordination: o Delivers onsite refresher training to ERT personnel and mandatory emergency response and escape equipment and lifesaving equipment induction and refresher training for all personnel onboard FPSO. o Coordinates all mandatory required training for ERT members. Work with Technical Training Centre and Asset OIMS Coordinator to ensure all personnel are fully trained as required for their ER role. o Provides awareness and onboard refresher training for freefall lifeboats on FPSO. - Management, inspection and calibration of all measurement equipment used for supporting operations - including portable gas detection equipment, radiation monitoring equipment etc. - Conducts regular and planned emergency exercises and contributes to debriefing to define corrective actions - Contributes to Loss Prevention Program and is a visible SHE Champion onboard the FPSO, setting positive example to all personnel, encouraging participation in SHE programs - Assisting with incident investigation and analysis, where required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - Behavioral Skills: analytical, communicates effectively, courage of conviction, manages risk - Functional Skills: emergency preparedness and response, incident investigation and analysis, operations integrity and compliance assessment, OIMS execution support, risk assessment and management, safety management, safety regulations and standards, fundamentals of health, fundamentals of environmental management and regulatory compliance, environmental standards, regulation development and advocacy, SSHE management - operations and maintenance, managing critical operations activities - Bachelor"s degree required - Demonstrated work experience in safety-related positions (including some prior oil & gas experience) - Knowledge of security processes and procedures - Proficient in use of computers and programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Microsoft Office - Read, write, and speak fluent English, as required to function effectively within a project team - Prefer
